She and her husband, Joel's father, also visited Joel in Cicely. At the beginning of the episode, Nadine loved to talk. Marilyn became friends, warning Nadine of a possible fate by telling a vital story. Nadine kept quiet after the story, and was able to land successfully after falling off the cliff. She was thankful after that, but when she tried to explain it to Joel, it increased tension between them. The end of the episode has Herb talking more often and Nadine talking less often.
